Re: Shutting down

Daffy, I respect your decision. It can't be easy running a forum like this. You've done a very good job under difficult circumstances. I think it's vital that the testimonies of former pupils are preserved somewhere and I hope that the forum can continue under a new administrator. Best wishes for th...

Re: St James Senior Boys has a new headmaster

Certainly not much individuality being shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF3hXu2wH3g

I was wondering about the girl standing on a chair at about 0:16. Are the teacher and pupils pointing and chanting at her? If so, why? Any ideas?

Re: St James Senior Boys has a new headmaster

Interesting to see that he's on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Longclosehead and https://twitter.com/teddytoff1 He apparently introduced 'pausing' at Long Close school and he mentions meditating and attending Art in Action but that doesn't necessarily mean he's in the SES, of course. Perhaps somebody ...

Re: PR man arrested! Oh... wrong one.

Very interesting reading! Their talk of 'Archbishop Tutu' and 'courage' rings rather hollow now. It's almost seven years since the Townend Report revealed, as the headteachers' letter puts it, 'the unhappy truth that wrong was done'. What serious attempts have the schools made to bring about reconci...

Re: The truth about the 'Reconciliation Process'

It's now almost seven years since the report was published. If the iirep website http://www.iirep.com/page10.htm is anything to go by, the status of the reconciliation process appears to be the same as it was when bonsai posted about it back in July 2008. Does anyone have any evidence that the proce...

Re: Daily Mail Article

I'm no fan of the Mail but this is a really good article. Should have a positive effect in keeping people away from the evil cult that is the SES. Just wish it had mentioned the Inquiry and its findings.

Re: The SES and Regional Schools in England

Hi actuallythere, As Goblinboy suggests, you may have been thinking of the connection between Leolin Price (who was originally proposed as chairman of the inquiry) and Roger Pincham via the anti-EU 'Congress for Democracy'. I've just been watching the Channel 4 News item again. Boddy says, "Thi...

Channel 4 Dispatches on Islamic faith schools

Just watched a disturbing 'Dispatches' documentary on Channel 4 about some Islamic faith schools in Britain where intolerance and separatism are taught and children are routinely assaulted and abused. Strong echoes of St James and St Vedast. The programme should be appearing on the Channel 4 website...

Re: St James "Philosophy Courses"

The obsession with sound and bizarre. I still don't understand how they know what is a good sound or a bad sound. Bonsai Yes, they were obsessed with this at St Vedast. We had to spend hours at a time standing and chanting Sanskrit syllables over and over again. These 'lessons' were called 'Soundin...

"the moon which cools everything"

I guess science wasn't Big Mac's strong point.

"This English word 'God' is in fact a corruption of the beautiful word Govinda."

Or etymology.
