Queensgate Foundation
For obvious reasons the name rang a million alarm bells but I can't find anything obvious. It might just be a coincidence but... over to other more skilled diggers

Re: 'Shame on You' by Clara Salaman
Clara used different names and didn't write it 100% exact, but wrote and composed to make it both interesting and about the truth of what was going on - she did well IMO. Lots have recognised and posted about that reality and others have read it, some from SES and others who'd never experienced it ...

Re: The SES and mental health problems
I find this question really difficult. There are people who claim they were only affected positively, weren't affected, didn't notice any ill-effects, were affected but chose to deny it, realised the affects later on, or knew from the get-go. My informed guess is that there is a higher rate of probl...

Re: Kind of general ramble - you'll see.
It's something I frequently laugh about, I also use it in interviews when they ask about skills and faults. I'm good at giving detail - sometimes too much but I can be precise.

Re: 'Shame on You' by Clara Salaman
Yes DASKA I'm sure there are things in the book that are true. The problem is we don't know for sure what is true and what isn't. As you said "we" know what is true. Great but not everyone has your knowledge. In these books there are some things that are true and many things are not. Even...

If you read the article carefully it says: "and it has come in the form of Clara’s gripping, partly autobiographical novel Shame On You. " Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-1201397/It-relief-discover-I-did-fit-real-world.html#ixzz0vppNesEt Partly autobiographical whic...

Re: Kind of general ramble - you'll see.
I've admired the writing style in all of the posts I've trawled through and that's a lot of them. If you're ex-pupils of the day schools, you surely learned how to write. Except they (the posts) mostly take a long time to make a point. Good writing though. ROFLMAO In other words we're verbose, conv...

Re: Post-Cult After Effects
If a person really takes responsibility for their own actions they wouldn't require their victim to make the effort to take them to court.

Re: THE SES and THE LAWS OF MANU
Oh gosh I find myself sitting right on the fence here! On one hand I hate that people appear to want to choose to believe something which I find utterly repellent. e.g. Manu, which is so riddled with excuses for men to mistreat others based on entirely fictional ideas On the other hand I find it use...

Re: Post-Cult After Effects
They say we pick our parents before we are born so we can work off some karma, if this is true why pick SES parents? "They" who? In this scenario, blaming Karma is just finding an excuse to do anything you like on the basis that the victim rather than the perpetrator is responsible for wh...

I currently employ an ex-nun (Catholic variety). She's still a committed Catholic but exhibits every single one of the characteristics listed above
so in what way is a cult different from a religion?
or should that be: in what way is a religion not a cult?

Re: Steiner Schools
I will admit I deliberately shied away from giving you the really scary links because by all accounts the schools do vary and, as CM has said, there are plenty of people who are more than happy with Steiner schools. Also, because we know how bad it can get when things do go wrong and that could make...
