Mike, pupils shower after games always have, in all schools. Teachers are required to be in attendance, probably some health and safety rule. These are the facts. A lot of additional accusations are being flung around post-enquiry that were not, apparently, raised earlier. This is just mud-throwing ...

Well, Keir, I have never heard these stories. And I don't know anyone else who has heard these stories. If anything, members of SES are expected to behave with decency - since truthfulness and honesty would be hallmarks of any legitimate philosophical pursuit. As for the well-meaning Mr Nolan, just ...

It's depressing to hear that sexual abuse is a characteristic of most cults, maybe even one of those 'definition' criteria to add to or augment existing definitions posted in various places on this site. I guess it must follow when you have a system that depends on people becoming blindly subservien...

I suppose in many ways SES mirrors the society in which it lives. Well, it's bound to cause the people who go to it are also members of society and although they spend time in SES they spend far more time at work, with family, with friends, reading the paper, watching TV etc! And it's inevitable tha...

Interesting to read this from Mary: "Having been here for almost 7 weeks now I am beginning to appreciate the freedom of thought I was permitted at St James. I have begun to realise how lucky I was not to be forced into accepting anything as "The Only Way" and I am increasingly thankful for all the ...

Snowman, I'm not sure what credibility I had to start off with. But it sure hurts to start losing it. I take these postings very seriously and do read before constructing one of my own. Keir also accuses me of not reading his thrust accurately. Perhaps I'm just not very good at assimilating thrusts....

Oh alright, I couldn't help just logging in to see how Keir responded to my last message. I presume capital letters mean a raised voice ... ? However, I didn't say I was anxious and I wasn't in the least bit angry. I've got a busy job and a young family, lots of hobbies and service to the community ...

You said argue facts with facts. So I did. The lemonade thing. Also, how can Art in Action have pretensions to be a village fete? Have you ever been to a village fete? Village fetes don't get 25,000 people. Village fetes have bric a brac stalls and ferret races. As for giving back to the community, ...

Sorry, must add:

While wholesome lemonade is available at Art in Action (I assume) so is wine, champagne, pimms, coffee and tea. I don't think there's any beer, though. Which is damning, isn't it? Or does it matter?

Gandalf ... I meant quality rather than quantity. Frodo is central to the universe but Gandalf does better fireworks. Keir, Art in Action doesn't have pretensions to be a village fete. It's an exhibition of the arts from around the world etc etc. Are you accusing the SES of not doing enough for the ...

Dear Gandalf, Listen, I nicked a name from LOTR before you! But I was more modest. I salute you, oh wise wizard. Ross made some parallel with SES and some Australian scam to suggest that SES was a bit dodgy with its cash. Helicopters came into it somewhere. Anyway, I thought it a bit much, really. I...

Mike, you keep repeating that some things are beyond debate, beyond hearsay, not to be questioned. The SES is dishonest and manipulative ... don't discuss. From what I can see, the SES dances a jig trying to show everyone what it does. Whether you like what it does is another matter. To my knowledge...

So what is anybody actually saying here? Sorry, I'm sure Bella is a very nice person. But I don't buy Donald Lambie, if that's who you mean, dismissing someone after 25 years membership etc. I mean, I thought SES tried to keep hold of people. What's the point of eating salami if you then have it for...

Important note, Ross. Bearing in mind that the SES is extremely similar to the organisation you describe, ie, people appearing to be respectable and a couple of other things ... how do you nip out of a message to read a bit of the board? Ah well, bearing in mind this spooky parallel between the two ...

Very telling. Aha. As soon as SES realised that people were enjoying themselves at Art in Action they cancelled it. Typical. Just goes to prove that it is contrary to SES deranged doctrinal mores to experience pleasure or love or any sort of emotional, er ... emotion. Also typical of their complete ...
