I said THREATEN, not actually beat the sh*t out of anybody.
My point was that they would not mess with you if you LOOKED like a thug, regardless of whether you were one or not.
Myself, I prefer the internet...

Speaking of Leaflets and Graffiti...
We need more of them. The second 'Introductory Philosophy' course for the year is about to start, here in little old Perth, Western Australia -- I suspect elsewhere as well. http://philosophywa.com.au/IntroCourse.php If I were 6 foot 3 and 130 kilos I would happily shave my head and stand out the fr...

I should mention that my mother had had a nervous breakdown and was on antidepressants a few months prior to joining the school, so I was curious to see what it was that had contributed to her becoming someone I could relate to again. She was "herself" again, and it made me curious. Interesting. So...

Hi Ross Well I found the website entirely by accident, so i didn't see any of the ads. Interestingly, I still have an email I sent off to a girlfriend saying "Do you think this is some sort of front for a religious organisation?". But i found nothing to substantiate these suspicions at the time (obv...

Well, my refund cheque finally arrived. And rather than being lulled into cash-induced apathy (which is probably what they are hoping will happen!) I have decided to continue my efforts to expose the SOP for what they really are. I have been investigating the possible grounds for lodging a complaint...

The first three sentences on that website are: When people think of philosophy, they usually think of something academic and purely intellectual. The courses offered by the School of Philosophy are not an academic exercise. The Introductory Course consists of twelve practical sessions on the questi...

You can easily ask for your money back if you don't like the course. You don't have to threaten. You will be refunded - no problem. Oh yes. I had to threaten. There was nothing ANYWHERE saying they would refund it. Normally there are no refunds given for general 'lifestyle' type courses like this. ...

Perth SOP
Does anyone know the leaders of the Perth School?
Can anyone tell me anything else about the Perth SOP as I would like to know how prolific it is, and how long it has been running for.

Hi there Well I discovered this forum recently, after falling prey to one of the 'Introductory Philosophy' courses run by the 'School of Philosophy' here in Australia. I signed up expecting a course in Philosophy. Instead I got a heap of mumbo jumbo spiritual crap, which did not even make sense, and...
