Back to school and nothing seems to have changed much. I'm just so relieved that my daughter only has one more term left (we have a confirmed exit route established). Still no clarity on what SES stands for and how it might affect my child.

I don't have any links to PPIAG and may be speaking out of turn here, but as a parent (one of the P's in PPIAG) I fully understand the need for anonymity. My daughter is a current pupil at St James. While I plan her exit route, she remains effectively a hostage. I have heard stories that the school'...

Not even slightly (I've posted on the thread "Moving schools - taking a child out of St James"). Personally, I put it in the same category as paedophilia - one confirmed incident and they should never work in a position where they have responsibility for children again. It is essential for teachers ...

Thank you for that link Stanton - very relevant. A few points - 1) A "commitment to a reconciliation process" is all very well, but clearly from the Channel 4 news piece (and from much of the discussion on other threads on this forum), not enough has been done to date to at least some of the individ...

Coming back to the original topic .. Following the Channel 4 item this evening, I wonder if many (or any) non-SES parents will be comfortable keeping their children at a school that has teachers in with an abusive history. Whether or not the abuse was confined to the named teachers, the defiance of ...

Many thanks for your replies so far - in particular mm, it is good to hear your similar thinking. It is also good to hear about the teaching of boys at St James - while pretty clear about the drawbacks of our daughter's education, we are currently deciding which school to put our son down for and it...

Moving schools - taking a child out of St James
Hi - first post on this forum so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. We have a daughter at St James junior school in London and have decided to take her out of the school and move her to a more conventional school. Reasons being: 1) The curriculum diverging widely from the norm - in particu...
