James Joyce hung around with Lacan and other post-structuralists and he wrote with the main intent of showi...

One of the most spurius arguments presented to me second hand by the SES through my Grandfather, was that modern music, such as that of the revolutionary, Jimmie Hendrix, is inferior, due to it not yet having 'passed the test of time'. I'm sure that to most of you the erronerous nature of this reaso...

Regarding the women comment, I hope you reco...

Debenham took a shine to me perhaps because of my religious and military tendencies -(thankfully long gone). I think he sought a headmastership as a situation where he could be an imitation monarch. I remember the end of one assembly when I was 11. The 150+ boys of the school had not risen with eno...

I should also have mentioned the Seaton twins , Timothy and Paul, good to know those guys however young we were.

I do remember being fond of Commander Wilson and I now remember his grey hair and grandfatherly appearance. If I've got it right he was a good sort.

I remember that Mr B used to scare me and his voice and size were an intimidating package. i don't understand why my memory of the curteying procession is restricted only to him. I was only at the school for about 3.5 years and it was a very long time ago, but I remember that perhaps another teacher...
