Thank you Shout. Couldn't have put it better myself. Of course I knew that the answers to my questions were all a resounding 'Yes'. I'm not surprised at Sam's tone in his posts and blatant lies, (it seems to run in the family). When I brought up the subject of this forum with Laura Hyde she seemed t...

This is utterly deplorable and despicable. It will come to no surprise to many parents that the Alcuin School in leeds did not do the necessary CRB checks on their staff, bearing in mind that the St James schools continue to employ teachers who have abused children. It is difficult to be fair and op...

She looked so sad and withdrawn I was moved out of my introversion Not all of the children I have met, but the majority from St James do seem to possess this trait. Most are introverted souls. It is a very sad and fustrating thing to see. Having a conversation with some St James children is like tr...

Free Wrote: The Pause and the Exercise can be misused and misunderstood, and often are used in the SES for "thought stopping" ...and which in turn produces episodes known as 'floating' in a young child, (where the child is physically there but his/her mind wanders elsewhere). I suppose a bit like d...

All joking aside, no doubt you visited STJ open day and read up on the schools 'quirky' curriculum. So, may I ask, Why did you decide to send your children here if 1)You knew about the maths and nikilam 2)You knew about Sanskrit and 3)You knew about their ethos/principles....the pause blah blah bla...

I forgot- for those that don't pause correctly---young children are threatened with pausing lessons with the headmaster.

If those two fail, we're just victims of the system

Couldn't agree more, we are all victims, whether we are members of the SES or not.

ADG The Department of Education, NSPCC, Secretary of State for Education, even police departments have been contacted. No one's interested....even the media have backed off. Whether this is because of the SES' litigious nature and nobody wants to touch the issue with a barge pole, (after all it is e...

Stanton, We have received in the past - and also this week - calls for direct action, so the threat is not improbable I do hope that the police have been informed of these possible threats and that parents have also been made aware that a letter of this nature has been received, so that steps can be...

Sara, I wanted to thank you for contributing your experiences. If it wasn't for people like you, that have had the courage to speak out on this BB I would know no better. I was particularly moved by your account of having to stay hidden for a number of years...it is almost unbelievable. However, I c...

Tom, As far as I know, there have been official complaints made by some parents. I do not know if the school have taken any action on the complaints made- I cannot think of any teacher that has left recently or that has been disciplined as a result. Other parents are pursuing things legally. Sadly m...

TD, I too can tell of instances where chidlren have been left alone in rooms, crying their little hearts out (God knows what would have happened if a fire had broken out), boys sent to spend the morning in the girls classrooms as a form of punishment for something trivial, children not being allowed...

Chittani, Or mm-'s recent comments about how illiterate and innumerate St James kids are (hmm ... voice of common sense ... 20th best school in the country = possibly doing something right? ADG Wrote: It is known in the area as the school you DON'T send kids too if you want them to 'learn to read and write and do maths'. I think this should apply to St James in London as well. The standard of teaching is really dismal. I am amazed at how some children at St James can barely read simpl...
