Re: Exit-counselling

Bonsai and actuallythere, I did get legal advice regarding libel, which I have mentioned on another topic. A local lawyer read my notes and advised me to get specialist advice, and not to do anything until I did. I contacted a specialist who charges between £1,500 and £2,500 for advice on the length...

Re: actuallythere's above post

That's just calling people names - no one takes any notice of that.

Re: Exit-counselling

I understand what you mean about the group and I think we may be talking from different perspectives over the cult thing. I am not sure but your name implies you may still be in SES and you do seem to be more concerned about those in the organisation coming to terms with the issues and I am concerne...

Re: Exit-counselling

Thanks for this link to HVC in the UK actuallythere. I have copied below the section from the HVC website on 'spritual abuse' in case it is helpful to anyone else: "What do I mean by Spiritual Abuse? Johnson & VanVonderen, The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse (1991) define spiritual abuse as...

Re: Heaven's Gate documentary

Thanks for this actuallythere. He is weird isn’t he – never blinks! Perhaps he learned to control his own eyelids too! It seems to me these people are looking for something to do that will get them a ‘following’, in other words people to control..... There are 6 youtube clips, I have watched the fir...

Re: EXPERIENCES AT ST. VEDAST (now St. James) AND THE S.E.S

I think it would be good if this thread is sticky personally, but I think it is up to those that contributed to it, especially Matthew who started it. ET wrote (regarding adults in SES): However, as many people have said on this forum before me, you chose to join the SES, and entered into the whole ...

Re: David Boddy on boys only schools - TES Connect article

JAMR wrote (about David and Miriam Boddy's 'Silence on Sunday's'): The impression I get from the messages that they feel they have something unique that is lacking in other groups. I wonder why DB has set up this new group. It sounds at least promising that it is he and his wife's initiative. Also t...

Re: David Boddy on boys only schools - TES Connect article

JAMR wrote: You do digress. The continual reference back to the SES when irrelevant makes it larger than it really is. The SES is the whole point of this forum, and was relevant anyway to illustrate the point I was making above. However, the rest of what we have been discussing could be considered i...

Re: David Boddy on boys only schools - TES Connect article

Re: JAMR's post above. Now I am forced to either accept JAMR's dismissal of my points or to dialogue with him again. So, in order to try to prevent you from misrepresenting my post again, I will respond. JAMR wrote: You appear to think that being ‘rational’ is the ‘right’ way to do things and so imp...

Re: David Boddy on boys only schools - TES Connect article

I am not going to write directly to JAMR as I have already explained that I find his attitude to be antagonistic. I have read his responses but still do not believe his motive is sincere in the respect of understanding, but rather in the respect of grinding other views down. However, since this is a...
