Matthew, please don't feel any guilt, we chose to sign our names to the letter and take the consequences. We are still waiting to be sure of which letter our relatives were told about. They are at Waterperry until Saturday, so I doubt we will get anything definite before then. However, it does appea...

Just to add a further note to my sister JC's post - it is just possible that our family members at Waterperry were told about our signatures on the open letter, and not about our individual private letters to the governors. If this is the case, then obviously there has been no breach of our confiden...

Personally I have no problem about Ruth Kelly being a member of Opus Dei and also holding a position of power and influence. She is open about this membership and there will always be those who believe that such affiliations affect her professional judgements. This is why we have the checks and bal...

Sam, Just to clarify - Ruth Kelly has publicly admitted to being a member of Opus Dei, although whether it is a destructive cult or not is open to interpretation. Dan Brown himself has said that his portrayal of Opus Dei in "The Da Vinci Code" is, although based on fact, largely fictional. So MM's p...

Yes ems, Mrs. Southwell (senior) was indeed matron at No.90 for many years - I seem to remember her cure-alls were arnica and olbas oil: Broken arm (I actually witnessed this) - arnica tablet and a lie down and then eventually (presumably when that didn't work) hospital Headache - olbas oil and an a...

He also gave his card to a number of the girls (I think it was just about the Senior girls) so that they could contact him if there was anything they wanted to tell him in private ... but not one of them did. Plainly it was already by this time a different place. I had left the school by the time t...

Teacher 100, I agree with Goblinboy that it is very brave of you to keep posting on here despite the strong opposition to a lot of what you have written. If your picture of the senior girl's school is true, then I am heartily relieved that things have changed so much for the better since I was there...

Afraid I don't agree about William Wray, but I did like his daughter! I must add a teacher too though (nice to have something more positive on here): Gillian Payne (formerly Piper): very nice woman who got into terrible trouble for showing us "Crocodile Dundee" and "Inner Space" in end-of-term Chemi...

Kindness and courage will get you all to the place you want to be, and that goes for both sides . Yes, it does. So why have the governors shown neither of these attributes yet by having the kindness to issue personal and sincere apologies; and the courage to accept their (albeit unwitting) collusio...

Welcome Ben, it's great to hear a new coherent voice on here, and interesting to hear from someone who was a child in the SES before the schools were set up. I look forward to hearing more about your experiences. I also wholeheartedly support your hope that other people who have been serverely damag...

Interestingly, it appears that our SES relatives were told that us "hardened activisits" on here are after money (in compensation I assume). Another example of the "spin" the SES is putting on all this within it's own organisation, and proof (if proof were needed) that they lie consistently to their...

In a follow up to JC's post, I would just like to report that, after informing our parents of our involvement in the inquiry (I am JC's sister), our mother decided off her own bat to finally inform her SES relatives of our involvement in the inquiry, finally being open about how much we suffered (up...
