Woodgreen, I can assure you no-one has been prevented from joining this forum because of having connections to the SES.

Re: THE SES and THE LAWS OF MANU

I completely respect ET's views on this, and on a completely personal level I can't be bothered to read what I consider airy-fairy philosophical discussions of this kind because they have no relevance to me. As the administrator of this forum though I have to apply a 'benefit of the doubt' principle...

Re: Post-Cult After Effects

Well said, bluegreen. In particular I've always thought that the Catholic church was more cultish than most major religions because of its belief in Papal Infallibility. There's really not a lot of difference between Papal Infallibility and the reverence in which Leon McLaren was held. I wonder if a...

Re: THE SES and THE LAWS OF MANU

I don't really know anything about the subject you are discussing, but this forum doesn't have strict rules about whether topics are directly SES-related or not, so I have no problem with starting a topic on this. Let's see where it leads.

'See you in court', This is a discussion forum rather than a site for the wholesale reproduction of other people's work. I would consider allowing limited extracts of other authors' work in some circumstances, but you have not suggested any reason or provided any accompanying comment. Please refrain...

Re: Calling Daffy (and Witness)

What did Lambie say to threaten you? I don't mean this as a judgement on anyone but I think people may be inclined to take vague threats from the SES too seriously. As a barrister, Lambie will be aware as much as anyone that using the courts to try and muzzle your critics is liable to backfire serio...

Re: Katharine Watson

I didn't know her but she contributed to this board for a while as a representative of and teacher at St James. Which makes her almost unique among (ex-) teachers there in being courageous enough to do so.

This is a message for Witness as your registered email address is invalid: I had to deactivate your account last month after several requests to change your email address to a valid one weren't responded to. Every time the board emailed you, e.g because you were watching a thread or received an emai...

Please don't let that stop you posting your notes on the forum - you can break them up into several posts if you want.

Re: Coming to terms with stupidity

I met someone from my old class a few years ago by shear coincidence and I tried to reminisce with her but she was the teacher's pet and had no idea what i was talking about. To my surprise, teacher's pets don't notice or remember the treatment of teacher's victims. I have had similar experiences, ...

Re: Coming to terms with stupidity

bluegreen, what you describe is obscene, disgusting behaviour by the teachers concerned. Can you put name(s) to the teacher(s) who behaved in this way? Clara Salaman describes this in her book as well. I know some people justify the physical abuse at St James and St Vedast according to the corporal ...

Re: Coming to terms with stupidity

No problem!

The forum has just celebrated its first anniversary since relocating to ses-forums.org. Thanks to renewed interest kick-started by Clara Salaman's book, and numerous new members registering over the past few months, traffic on this site has trebled since June.
