SCHOOL SAYS SORRY OVER MISTREATMENT The governors of St James Independent Schools have apologised unreservedly after a report stated that some pupils had been assaulted by teachers in its early years. The schools, which include St James School for Senior Boys in Cross Deep, Twickenham, commissioned ...

brainwashed!!
....."I am delighted and yet unsurprised that the Report finds the current St.James school a 'happy place'". (Technically, the Report doesn't actually make that finding, Mr Hassan, but I'm sure it's nice for you to imagine it does.) What really annoys me about this statement of Mr Hassan's is the o...

Re: bequests
Following on this discussion.... I know it was started some time ago but it raised something from the depths of my memory as I read it. Does anyone else (possibly from the 80s/early 90s) recall having a letter sent home with them requesting parents and grandparents to leave the school money in their...

Re NSPCC
Hi mm While this a very sad state of affairs, I can't say I'm surprised. It merely bares testament to the inherent secrecy with the SES and the schools. Add the fear experienced by children when telling others about the abuse they have gone through (emotional, mental and physical), and you will be g...

censorship
Surely they can't ignore what has already been posted on the website. They can't censor it, but will it count for anything? Excuse my ignorance.

Dr Lato
JoJo My gosh!! Dr Lato is such a blast from the past. I remember having to go to Reading with my poor mum having to drive all the way there. Did you discover the delights of the trampoline in his back garden? I remember having a great time there, but of course he did absolutely nothing for my eczema...

Child protection
Does anyone know if St James has any sort of child protection policy in place? Are teachers at the school vetted in any way, for example CRB checks etc? As they work with children, and following on from lessons learnt through Soham, surely it is a legal requirement for all teachers to have clearance...

Katinka writes "...our tutor went on to say that people who live useful and moral lives will stave off illnesses, including dementia among other things (note that she didn?t say they could lessen the chance of such illnesses, she actually implied that the illnesses could be prevented)..." In 2003 I ...

oh boy
I've only just found this topic but boy does it strike a chord!! I bottle things up; I can't talk to people when they p^*% me off; I avoid confrontation at all costs, even to my detrement; I cry when I get angry. The list is endless, but suffice it to say I am emotionally bonkers thanks to SES and S...

Vix, hunny, quit while you're ahead and get on with the rest of your life. My mum has been in SES for nigh on 45 years. She was sucked in, duped, brainwashed and now she can't get out. To illustrate my point further, one of the members of my mum's group left SES, upon which the entire group was told...

SES jokes
"How many SES members does it take to change a light bulb?" ADG, I think the answer to this one, if I remember correctly, is something along the lines of it only takes one man to change the actual lightbulb but at least 4 women to turn the chair for him, make his cup of tea, shine his shoes, offer ...

OK, there are a lot of things ET and I disagree on, after all we have a long history. I happen to love the colour lilac and I think the yellowy/goldy thing they've got going kinda jazzes it up a bit. Sorry ET, but there you go... we always were chalk and cheese!!!! Love you. xxxx
