Re: Michael Mavro Sydney SOP

Hello Earlgrey and thankyou for taking the time to answer the questions posed. You have been extraordinarily candid in your answers. I think these answers are very revealing What am I still doing at SOP? Well the same thing that brought me in is keeping me here. An interest in pursuing this line of ...

Re: Shocked

Hi Shy, And welcome to our forum. I guess most people come onto the forum because they have niggles or questions about the organisation that don't sit well and find us here when looking for answers. You say you have joined the John Colet School community, but what does that mean and what is your rol...

Re: Thank you for warning me...

I was aware of the posts about Silence on Sunday but entirely unaware of this had involved him quitting or reducing his involvement in the SES. This is good for St James in the sense that it does put clearer distance between them and the SES. However it does come with huge warning signs about what s...

Re: Thank you for warning me...

Or could it be, in fact, that Donald Lambie is going through this crisis, and instead of admitting how sinister the SES was, he is gently trying to reform it to make it last in diluted form, hence its current crisis (such as David Boddy quitting) ? Hi AT, What's the story with Boddy quitting? When ...

Re: Exit-counselling

I understand the fear, but we also know from history that the organisation has a bark worse than its bite. As far as I know there has been no legal actions taken over the Secret Cult, any of the news reports. And certainly the threats made against Clara Salaman have not stopped the SES and St James ...

Its the truth about how they operate they don't want known. ...and so long as it's the truth, there can be no libel, regardless of how damaging it is to the people or the organisation. I'm no lawyer, but it would be very hard to successfully prosecute a libel case against someone publishing their h...

Re: Exit-counselling

Does that mean the people in charge of SES are addicted? Maybe they are, but don't realise, not accept that.... I have often felt that the SES has a very drug dealer/drug user kind of feel to it. I think the attraction of the SES is very much one of escapism. Those at the top of the organisation ar...

The thing is it is not unrelated. What is taught in the philosophy school is taught in children's day school too.

The HM there makes no mention of some of the more peculiar teachings of the school and I have been told expresses to potential school enrollment parents that his group the sop broke away fron the ses becasue they were too strict.(ony if pressed, I am told.) Re: Can the SES claim Gift Aid?

I have always been uncomfortable about the SES's charitable status. As a charity it would be entitled to claim back the gift aid, where donors ticked the relevant box indicating that they are a UK tax payer. The thing about the SES's charitable status is who benefits in a charitable way from their e...

actuallythere wrote:By the way Tootsie, why do you think Lambie doesn't run SES?

I don't know why Tootsie thinks that Lambie doesn't access the SES, but one reason I can think of is that he isn't actually a trustee of the organisation and doesn't carry any legal responsibilities for the organisation.
