Bonsai; You are right, it is obvious. But what is becoming more and more apparent is that despite the protestations of a few that the governors, SEoS et all are becoming more transparent, they in fact appear to have absolutely no intentions of becoming so. The 'mystery 3rd governor' is no more than ...

Mark Broadwith is, unfortunately, a New Zealander and the headmaster of the Ficino School in Auckland, New Zealand. Here's part of an article found in an "education advertising feature" in a local paper (The Aucklander) on 8 March 2006, under the title 'Unversality of spirit'. "Ficino School was est...

I found the following in the St. James Spectrum 2005 magazine. I feel that a thread started by a 'non-subserviant ex-St. James girl' is probably as good a place as any to post it. " It is good that our young women should be encouraged to view their potential as limitless, but we must take care to en...

Sam,

To be brutally frank with you - who gives a tuppenny damn?

I know I don't.

I do, however, wish you all the very best and every success for the future.

:drinking: I'm afraid this is this closest I can get to having a beer with you at the moment - cheers!!

Nils, I think you have hit the nail on the head with your post. I have been following the various threads on this sight for quite some time now and of late it has become apparent to me that various parties from both sides of the fence have been doing their best to muddy the waters of reason. Here ar...

ADG: I agree that it is primarily the parents' job to instill self-discipline, (good) manners and a spirit of generosity in their children. However it is my sad experience that all to many children today are not being taught that by their parents, mainly because the parents themselves show very litt...

Care and Concern.

I certainly dont remember any pastoral interest or care at St Vedast/James. Repression of emotion and problems was certainly encouraged. Any one with a problem was usually told they had too much of a sanskrit word (that had no obvious meaning). Does anyone know what the pastoral care at St James is...
