Welcome ab and thanks for the articulate post. Your experience mirrors that of the majority of people who have crossed the threshold of the SOP / SES. Interesting to consider that due to the rapid attrition rate., there are far more people in the world who have attended and left, than the current me...

Ranting and raving will only get so far - Celia and Anton genuinely tried to express themselves here without overly antagonising anyone, despite being told they were not allowed to. If they've been run off the boards by egomaniacal ideas of "worth", the instigators should be ashamed I agree. ... as...

Re: deleted.........

Note Celia's "response" has been deleted in the last few minutes -- my last lines in particular will not be understood in their absence. Ross, to put it politely, your postings are hard to understand regardless of context. The Ravesis have gone, citing your repeated attacks on them as the reason. M...

Re: ' more islamic nicety'

Ross,

As an engineer you'll appreciate that correlation does not mean causation.

Religeon and numerous other ideologies are frequently used as an excuse to exercise political power. But that's not the same as religeon being the cause.

What needs to be stressed is that in our time at St James (1970s-80s), meditation was forced on us under threat of the cane. I was physically dragged into classrooms on many occasions to meditate. That's obviously wrong. I don't think anyone can deny that. What makes it even more pointless is the f...

At face value, that seems seriously wierd, ADG, and very concerning. Do you know what the questions are? I have recently learnt that some kids spend a lot of their time in detention. They have no idea why they are in detention, to them it is just something they have to do. They are questioned while ...

I believe the likes of Nicholas Debenham and others just so avidly believed in what they were doing to miss the obvious signs in front of them and that their beliefs in the SES philosophy and the idolisation of Leon MacLaren allowed them to ignore the harm that they were doing. Don't get me wrong, ...

One moderator (Goblin Boy) has just criticised another (Daffy) for calling Stanton & me stooges of the governors. Not sure what that says. Hopefully it indicates, as ADG has observed, some diversity among the moderators, and a willingness to be transparent about our views. Legal action has defi...

You cannot possibly compare the "iirep" site and say there is any equivalence there to the torrent of abuse that is on this one. Or can you? Agree that they cannot be compared usefully for levels of abuse, or for anything much else, because one is a website and one is a public bulletin board. It's ...

Re: New thread please

Daffy / GB, Can I request that Stanton's reply be placed in a new thread please. The point she is making is serious in its own right and deserves debate. Hi Ben, This action doesn't require a moderator's input - you can establish the thread and quote Stanton's post, or she can do the same. BTW, agr...
