Re: Index

I agree and I'd be happy to help if I can.

Bonsai - by "news" did you mean press? Or news as in, "guess what guys - This week SES started to let people wear whatever the hell they want and they just elected an openly gay man to be the new leader of St. James"! (haha)

Re: Inheritence and wills: SES source of wealth

I know this is going slightly off the current point, but on this subject, I thought others on the board would like to know that my SES relatives (who had been set to give a substantial amount of money to SES on their deaths) have decided not to leave them any money at all. They would never say so, ...

Sigh! I forgot the basic rule that no matter what crazy idea you can think up, someone has already done it on the internet.

Re: Welcome to the new board!

Hey everyone - I finally have an avatar. I figured I'd use a cute kitten since you you can't go wrong with a cute kitten. Also, NYCGirl - the board was a lot more active in the months leading up to the Inquiry done in England into the abuse at the St. James and St. Vedast schools. Afterwards, it qui...

Re: Inheritence and wills: SES source of wealth

I did find both of those posts quite interesting. I'll have to ask some family members more about those issues. I had no idea that some of the tenants owned shares of the buildings. The school certainly had good lawyers when they crafted the contracts. When it sold the property on 95th street, it we...

Re: Welcome to the new board!

Hi NYCGirl!

I sent you an e-mail. You may be someone I've already spoken with outside of the board and if so, thanks for posting your support here!

If not, I'm very curious to see who you are since I am also a NYC girl raised in the NY school with a similar awful experience.

Re: Closure

Hi Pablo, Welcome to the forum! I have also dealt with the same emotional issues you have and I didn't even attend any of the St. James, etc. schools; I was merely brought up in the SoPP in the US. It's really something ingrained in the School, and although I'm sure similar boys schools at the time ...

Re: Welcome to the new board!

Hi everyone,

Thanks Daffy for putting this together and continuing it. I know that the board has been pretty quiet for a while, myself included, but it's value, even as an archive, is really important.

I don't know of anyone coerced into donating/willing, in my experience. And I don't know of anyone who would tell me what they were willing and how much. Most people consider that very confidential info until after they die. In the US, the buildings in NY were purchased and I believe the Canadian ho...

I would be shocked if there was any other type of response. Even if many people signed the petition, many people like faith-based schools. Even if they are not religious themselves. That would be a difficult thing to legislate.

I don't think they are related in any way but when I see people talking about the stuff from the Secret, I do think of the SES. There are some similarities of belief.

Great! I joined the new board and have posted already. I did an intro post in the "outed" thread. It's very brief, but I'm happy to elaborate and perhaps I'll link to a few threads here where I've already written a lot.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for posting here to tell us more about it. I was going to contact you because I am interested in joining the board. I read through quite a few of the blog posts although I didn't have time for all of them. And I was quite heartened at much of what I saw. The post about the younger m...

Wow - I wish I'd known about it sooner. Some of my exact thoughts have been voiced very clearly. Particularly by Kevin and Laura. I found some of Son of Moses more political/culturally-oriented posts rather offensive but that's neither here nor there in the context of the other school discussions th...
