Just curious, but does anyone know if SES permit members to remain Freemasons?
Both Freemasons as well as SES seem to use the Sanskrit language for its purity. Does anyone know if the SES founder, Leon Mac Laren, who was an MP, had any connections to Freemasons ? Brothers etc...

One of our ancient Sanskrit prayers goes thus:
"LEAD ME FROM UNTRUTH TO TRUTH,
FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT,
FROM DEATH UNTO IMMORTALITY".

Only through Freemasonry can this prayer be answered...

To the best of my knowldge (albeit purely academic) of Freemasonry, Sanskrit does not feature at all. The odd bit of Hebrew, perhaps.
This leads me to believe that when the author of http://web.mit.edu/dryfoo/www/Masonry/Why_Joined/sub23.html says:

he is actually meaning 'our' as 'Indians'. He makes several comments elesewhere that suggest he is located in India.
