SES membership - statistics / youtube videos?
Are there any statistics around on the amount of members of the SES charity, where the members come from, and how it is growing. Also are there are any videos of their classes on youtube.
I don’t know of any videos, but there is an audio recording of a recent talk by Donald Lambies (SES head) explaining the SES philosophy.
See: http://www.schooleconomicscience.org/ev ... icalgarden
He does explain clearly that it is based the Advaita Vedanta Hindu religion – and comes from translated conversations between Leon maclaren and the SESs spiritual guru in India.
St james is a little more opaque about the philosophy it is teaching and where it comes from:
“The spiritual base is a philosophy which acknowledges the validity of all faiths, seeing them as diverse paths to a single goal, and seeks to identify and practise their common principles…
…Pupils are introduced to the profound and yet simple wisdom of the spiritual traditions of the world through stories and examples of great teachers.
(Current St james websites)
I’m not sure why they’re so shy about explaining what it is they are actually teaching there.

Here are two more links to some of Leon MacLarens lectures and writing
http://www.cooperativeindividualism.org ... omics.html
and
http://www.cooperativeindividualism.org ... gress.html
It is probably worth noting that both of these are prior to MacLaren's contact with the maharishi yogi and TM and Shantananda Saraswati.

And here are some more links to MacLaren's writings and musings on economics including a complete reproduction of the Nature of Society a book he wrote in 1943.

Here is a biography that someone has put up for Leon MacLaren which can be found at http://www.geocities.com/funtasticweb/SPP/founder.html
I would really like to be able to find some of the more philosophical thoughts and writings that the SES teaches.
