Why is the SES a charity?

Postby bonsai » Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:05 pm

This is something that really bothers me and it's not something that I understand but why does the SES have charitable status?

What does it do that is actually charitable and for the benefit of society and mankind?

Does the SES actually do anything that benefits anyone other than its own members? (It's probably questionable that it is beneficial to its own members and doesn't just exploit then but that's a separate discussion.)
