From my post on the thread How can we achieve Truth & Reconciliation:
Quote" b) they are still unable to confront their parents who are now quite elderly and have devoted their lives to a belief structure"
Anita I much admire your calm approach. `As you say from personal experience: the 'oldies' can take it, though it hurts,
rather than have their children live under a facade of being dutiful & loving children, while pain is left unspoken. It may take time.
Your dialogue on this topic made me quite angry at first 'What about us??
out here in the penal colony? Well, it is up to us, though your contributions to the St James' enquiry must flow through to anyone here having the luck to find this forum. Thanks for leading the way. To ex & current (hope?)
SOP Sydney - I echo our notorious tourism campaign - Where the b.h. are you???
The reasoned approach may not however be the answer. If you havn't
already (and there are many SES/SOP whom I am sure will have searched on):
Look at Quantum Physics. We are moving away from Newtonian Principles, The Age of Reason which began in the Renaissance, and establishing Renaissance revival schools will not bring it back. Our children
have been born into a different world; the 70s generation have suffered for it, (Victorian principles were mentioned somewhere). 'Whatever prevents Love, causes pain'.
Forgive the esoterics. Celia R NB This does not mean 'do nothing!!
I really mean that, where are you? Maybe leading quiet lives & having forgotten most of it perhaps you could tell us how - but if you are on this forum has it helped?
Take heart Celia R, some of us ARE around. Trouble is that most of us from the 70's are soooo computer illiterate that we don't ever access the internet, let alone this site. I know -- every ex Schoolie of a certain age that I have mentioned this site to shows interest but no comprehension -- hence they never write.
Besides ... Anthony Renshaw is aware of all of this and because he is intelligent and sensitive to the way that things now stand, will not do anything to jepordise the standing of the Sydney school, let alone his teaching position.
Can't say the same about JMJ in Melbourne though. Speaking of which, the Melbourne School is having an 'Open Day' in early April. Anyone interested should pop along and 'exchange viewpoints'. Bring plenty of red wine, the men drink it by the gallon -- the finer the better just like BigMac.
It's all so funny really ... first of all they accumulate all this Reneisance Foundation money ... 'to wake up the world'. Now they are threatened with huge law suits for ummm ..'past errors of judgements'. Never would have happened if those London ego maniacs hadn't 'gone for the money'.
The whole thing is like a huge pyramid scheme ... you need suckers at the bottom end to support the 'illuminati' at the top.
You and I both know that they know little more than we do.
ps is Mavro still at Undercliffe st Neutral Bay ??
