The Dictator

Postby Tootsie » Mon May 28, 2012 9:44 am

Watching the Sacha Baron Cohen movie The Dictator I could not help being reminded that I too once lived in the land of Wadiya (SES) under those egotistical and ruthless dictators MacLaren and Mavro. It seems laughable now but at the time it was a simple case of survival. The leaders were always right and the use of the intellect was actively discouraged. MacLaren being a Renaissance man the equal of Leonardo Da Vinci and "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il, love and service to the leader was the only requirements made to live in the land of Wadiya. As for the movie the first twenty minutes is funny the rest is not. Just like the SES the first 2 years is fun the rest is not.
