New UK film release first seen at Sundance Film Festival last year, Martha Marcy May Marlene has been a talking point ever since for its unsettling look at a young woman haunted by her time as a member of a cult-like group.

Quote from BBC:
"People don't get sucked into these groups because they look bad from the outset. There's always something good at the beginning that is being offered, like love, community and acceptance.

Then the abuse starts. But if there are people around you telling you the abuse is okay, your view of what is normal and acceptable changes."

Looks like a must see.

This is a superb quote: "...if there are people around you telling you the abuse is okay, your view of what is normal and acceptable changes."

That, in a nutshell, is how SES caused adults to mistreat children.

The "Church" of Scientology are reportedly planning a publicity drive to undermine Paul Thomas Anderson's new film 'THE MASTER' based on L Ron Hubbard.

The review in the Guardian reminded me of the SES and St. James:

The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw handed Anderson's film a five-star review at Venice, calling it "an arresting and utterly absorbing psychological drama of marginal lives, an emotional history of charlatanism and gimcrack philosophy, a world of snakeoil truth salesmen offering self-medication of the spirit."

Sounds like a film worth seeing!
