Just received this email from David Boddy:
Dear Mr Grubb,
In response to your recent email to School, the position with regards to
teachers is as explained on the iirep.com website. There is no change.
The Governors of St James Schools are assisting the reconciliation process
between past pupils and their former teachers. There have been a number of
individual approaches to certain teachers who were employed by the School at
the time, and there is also evidence that former pupils are reaching
reconciliation within their families. Both of these developments are very
welcome and we would hope that they would continue.
Thank you for your enquiry.

Child abusers STILL teaching at St James
Re: Child abusers STILL teaching at St James
Thanks for posting this Tom,
I get the impression that whilst a little reconciliation may be taking place that there seems to be very little evidence of it. I may be cynical but I think it is too easy for St James to say that a process is happening when very little is happening at all. On top of that St James has shown very little evidence that it is prepared to look beyond the bounds of the inquiry at its underlying philisophical beliefs and hierarchical organisation that allows for these abuses to occur.
It would seem also that little or nothing has happened regarding governance since the response to the open letter.
This I imagine is not aided by the fact that this board seems to have gone very quiet over the summer and since the long unexpected outage.
Another opportunity for the SES and St James to address issues and concerns about some of its practices goes squandered.
