There's been some talk recently of getting something posted up on YouTube.

Well here's something a group of friends put together in recognition of Roger Pincham's recent retirement:

Feel free to post a comment and add a rating. It deserves a little publicity! :)

Thanks for this Matthew, great to see that a small hardcore of us is still battling and not letting them forget we are still here (and still not satisfied).
The comments of the current governor are particularly chilling - it would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating! They really do live in their own little world don't they??

I will be shortly returning to the UK to live and I can't wait to get properly involved in all this! Good for all of you.

I can't believe the strength of the denial that is still going on? Great work. Just thinking, how could someone find it if they didn't know it was there. For example if someone googled St James Independent schools would it come up ?

CM, if you click on "more info" it shows all the tags. So I think it would come up if you put any of those into a YouTube search. Maybe St James Independent schools would need to be in quotes though... have you tried that, Tom?

Good question.

The words "St James Independent schools" are now included as tags with the video on YouTube. So if you type "St James Independent schools" into the YouTube search, it's the first video that comes up. As for Google, I'm no expert, but I think it needs a lot of people to view the video and/or link to it before it starts coming up near the top of Google. Having said that, I just typed "Roger Pincham" into Google and the video came up as result 11, which is pretty good. I also found this rather different report of the event: http://robmarshall.blogspot.com/2008/03/tribute-to-roger-pincham-cbe.html Strange that we weren't mentioned...

It's worth noting that just googling "St James Independent school" doesn't bring up any results that would indicate concerns, criticisms, this forum, or anything about the inquiry in the first 10 pages of results.

Also if you search for St James Independent school with the words criticism or inquiry the website www.iirep.com is never returned. I think that I have worked out that because the text on that website is not copyable is not to protect the content but rather to ensure that it does not come up in search results. Likewise it's a site with very few links, I counted 5 in the whole site, which is also going to reduce the likelihood of it scoring highly in search results.

Given that the web is the principle tool that most people are going to use to research a particular school you will not find out much about any issues or concerns about St James unless you set out to find them.

I think it's fair to say, we still have some work to do if we wish our message to be heard on a level with the marketing message that St James put's out today.

Surely the answer would be to set up a site that fulfils the criteria needed to rise up the google ranks... a url containing st james might be a good start.

A fine idea. Any volunteers?

An excellent idea!
It would just need to be a single page with links to all available info on St James such as www.stjamesinquiry.org/ etc
I'm not that web savvy with regards to the best way to create it to get a high google ranking though.

I am more than happy to help with this.

I am advised by reliable sources that Pincham had proposed and wanted to stay on as an "advisor" after his "retirement" but they have since decided not to go ahead with this plan.

This just further show the lack of integrity of these people and that these changes are simply manouvers to change the outwards appearance of the school.

That is a perfect example of double-think. So if they had agreed 'what a top plan Roger' that would have shown their integrity, would it?

I thought the video was nasty, by the way. I don't suppose any of you are in the habit of shouting 'fatty' at overweight elderly people you pass in the street? Even ones you don't like? No, I thought not. What a degrading spectacle this site is.

Really Chittani, pots, kettles, glasshouses, stones etc! You think it's fair game to call into question a whole website based on one posting?
My friend's neighbour recently took her daughter out of John Scottus School, http://www.johnscottus.ie because her very young daughter was scared by her experiences there - as was my little fella actually. Is misogyny and scaring children so much more edifying?

Did I miss something? I don't remember anything like that happening in the video... :?
