St James Senior Boy's School Surrey

Does attending SES schools like St James mean your parents have to be millionaires? Checked out the fees they charge and they are definitely not for the lower classes. Maybe that's how all the English independent schools are. The following is from one of their brochures about the school. Turning out young men of independent mind and a desire to serve made me laugh. And people think North Korea with their beloved leader is a joke!

Cultural visits: All boys visit Rome and Pompeii in Year 7, Classical Greece at Year 8; Paris at Year 9 and Renaissance Florence at Year 10 to give them an insight into the best of European culture.

Academic standards are high with almost all Sixth Formers going to university.

The school aims to build sound character, nourish talent, enrich personal vision and turn out warm-hearted, level-headed young men of independent mind and a desire to serve.

In September 2010, the school relocated to a magnificent Victorian-Gothic building set in 32 acres of grounds in Ashford, Surrey, TW15 3DZ. 3.6 million pounds was spent on refurbishment and redecoration throughout, a new Dining Hall, stunning 6th Form Centre, extensive Library, new Drama Studio, state of the art Science Labs as well as expanded sports facilities.

Actress Emily Watson describes herself as a "Nice middle class English girl" and described St James as a 'progressive' school. According to Wikipedia her father was an architect and her mother was an English teacher, so maybe St James schools are for the so called middle class.
